THE COTTAGE

Self-catering cottage on the edge of The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley in a peaceful, rural location. Set in extensive gardens with great views towards the River Severn. Guests are welcome to use gardens, courtyard and walk in our fields. Furnished to a high standard and well equipped with all that you will need for a comfortable stay. Woodburner, central heating. 1 room with kingsize bed, 1 bedroom with 3ft twin beds.

Children over 12 very welcome. No pets.

18th century 2 bedroomed cottage, furnished to a high standard with all those things that make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Beds made up with fresh crisply laundered bedlinen. Twin beds zipped and linked on request. Towels provided. Sitting room has a TV and DVD player and log burner. Homemade cake, bread, milk and eggs from our own free range hens complete the welcome you will receive at Broughtons.

The cottage is entirely private and self -contained with its own entrance. There is ample parking. We live in the main house and are a family of 7- though the ‘children’ are grown up and live in their own homes so usually it is just us at home. You are welcome to use the whole garden (we keep just one garden area private) and walk in our fields- the property extends to 20 acres in total.

In one of the outbuildings there is a gas barbeque, sun loungers and plenty of storage for bikes etc.

GUEST ACCESS

The cottage is for your private use while you stay and also the courtyard outside. You are welcome to use the gardens but we do ask that the garden areas in front of ‘our’ part of the house are not used. ( we can explain when you arrive).

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

We live in a rural part of Gloucestershire, you will need a car to get around. The cottage is over 200 years old and has some low doorways and a narrow, fairly steep staircase with hand rail. The cottage is however fully modernised and all those things you would expect- central heating, secondary double glazing, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, tv etc. There is wifi but speeds are limited.
